KOCHI: Customs probing illegal export of currency recorded the formal arrest of Sarith P S in the case on Wednesday. It would also record Swapna’s arrest on Thursday, sources said.
Earlier, a non-bailable warrant was issued against Khaled Mohamed Ali Shoukry, the former finance head of UAE consulate who hails from Egypt, after customs arraigned him as respondent in the case relating to illegal export of currency.
Swapna and Sarith are the first two accused in the case and the court had permitted the agency to arrest the duo a few weeks ago.
Arrest of Sarith was recorded at Viyoor central prison and Swapna’s arrest would be recorded at Attakulangara prison on Thursday.
