Foreign remittances to Azerbaijan decreased by 29%

In January-April 2024, AZN 607.5 million entered Azerbaijan through rapid money transfer systems to banks. The volume of funds sent abroad from Azerbaijani banks amounted to AZN 173.1 million, APA -Economics reports citing Central Bank of Azerbaijan.

Compared to the January-April period of the last year, the volume of funds entering banks through rapid money transfer systems increased by 28.8% or AZN 245.7 million, while transfers from banks abroad decreased by 23.1% or AZN 52 million.

Note that in the first four months of last year, AZN 853.2 million entered Azerbaijani banks through rapid money transfer systems, and AZN 225.1 million was sent from banks abroad.
