Macao’s preliminary foreign exchange reserves stood at 243.1 billion patacas ($30.09 billion) at the end of July 2026, down 0.3% from the revised figure for the previous month, the Monetary Authority of Macao said Friday.
The reserves were equivalent to 11 times the currency in circulation or 88.4% of the Macao pataca M2 at the end of June, according to the authority.
The trade-weighted effective exchange rate index for the Macao pataca rose 0.41 points month-on-month and 0.24 points year-on-year to 100.5 in July, indicating an overall appreciation of the pataca against the currencies of Macao’s major trading partners.
